Continental Mounted Officer Greens

I received a pleasant surprise today with the arrival of these pictures of the Continental officers and horse greens that were sent to me by Richard Ansell. Good things are well worth waiting for and these certainly fill the bill. As shown in the pictures, we will be adding two American officers to the range: one pointing and one riding with his sword drawn at his side.

Their faces seem to have a lot of character, as you can see by clicking on the pictures to enlarge the view. With the completion of the mounted officers, Richard now has a full set of 16 figures to take to the caster (12 foot, 2 officers, and 1 horse - which takes up 2 slots in the mould). So it shouldn't be too long before we get these gentlemen into production.

I'm excited. Can't you tell?  :)

  1. They are beautiful Jim. You have a really nice line of figures in the making. A tip of the hat to you and Richard.

  2. When can these be expected to be ready as finished models for ordering? Also, does this mean you will have regular cavalry units for the Americans too? Henry Hyde suggested I give you a look for my 28mm AWI American Militia army I'm creating for Warlord Games' Black Powder. So far, I'm using Perry Miniatures.

  3. Wow! your miniature are stunning! I've just entered into the painting of miniatures two months ago. From reading the various blogs it has spiked my interest to try gaming too, but have none in my area. My son-in-law is a big time D&D gamer, but not into historical stuff. I'm a family history zealot, this has been my main hobby for 30 yrs, but now that I'm done with putting together over 3,000 pgs, I've gotten an interest into doing little history projects, such as I'm painting Clare's Dragoons & O'Briens Foote of the Williamite Wars (1689-91). Next I plan on doing Clare's Regt in the service of France. It seems that Front Rank will work the best since the unit must have cuffs and lapels for different colors & tricorn hats, but now that I look at your AWI I think they would work too, maybe even better cause it appears that yours are very detailed. One problem I'm having is that the unit may have used drummers (I find no mention of them), but they did have bagpipers. I can't find any pipers without kilts, and can't seem to find any that I can cannibalize either. What would be the cost of having a piper molded & cast? I may just have to go without this one historical detail that no one seems to be aware of. Thanks
